School News You Can Use In Saguache Today
Attention students interested in wrestling. Tonight, Thursday, Feb. 4 there will be a signup meeting for Saguache Youth Wrestling from 4 – 6 p.m. in the front lobby of Mountain Valley School. There is a $10 fee to cover insurance. Please make checks payable to Mountain Valley Booster Club. Student athlete scholarship for wrestling may also be available through the booster club. If you are not able to attend the meeting, you can contact Iris Garcia by email at email@example.com and a registration form can be emailed to you.
The first wrestling practice is planned for next Monday, Feb 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Mountain Valley gymnasium. Completed forms must be turned in before your athlete will be allowed to practice.
Practice times will change after high school wrestling ends. Practices: Monday at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. until after February 20, 2016, then they will begin at 5:30 p.m. Parent input on practice times will be solicited at the first practice.
This Saturday, February 5 the Snow Ball Homecoming Dance will take place at Monte Vista High School. Now in it’s 3rd year, the event allows eligible high school students from Moffat, Mountain Valley and Crestone Charter to gather together for a special night to remember. The Snow Ball will be held from 8 – 11 p.m. in the Music Room. Ticket prices are $5 for a single and $8 for a couple.
Next week on February 9 and 10 Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held for Mountain Valley Schools. The time frame begins at 4 p.m. and will wrap up at 7 p.m. As an added convenience for parents, dinner will be provided on both nights, for a small fee. Proceeds, after cost for the dinner, will go back to the students. In addition, there will also be a Scholastic Book Fair both nights that will be held in one of the elementary classrooms (follow the signs).
Remember, there will not be school on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Monday, Feb. 15. School will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 16. If you have any questions, please contact Mountain Valley Schools at 719-655-2578.
