Bonanza Trail Work Needs Volunteers for Saturday
The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) is looking for volunteers to help conduct trail work on the Elkhorn Trail near Bonanza this Saturday October 8. Enjoy the fall colors and the historic mining town of Bonanza while giving back. Camp out at the end of the workday, treat yourself to a soak at a nearby hotspring, or plan a hike to Elkhorn Peak!
This day-long event will focus on trail maintenance. A light breakfast and free lunch will be provided by the CMC. This is a great way to give back to your public lands and experience the outdoors while meeting new people and getting your hands dirty. The Elkhorn Trail is a moderate 3.5-mile hike and affords stunning views of Antora Peak.
All volunteers will need to have long pants, boots, at least two liters of water, sunscreen, day pack, and appropriate clothing for weather conditions. Please bring anything that you need to make your day more comfortable. The work project will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Hard hats, work gloves, and eye pro will be provided. Please sign up for more information and directions to the worksite HERE.
