It’s Halloween Fun in Saguache Today
Today, October 31, the Mountain Valley School Booster Club will host an evening of Halloween Fun in the Saguache Fire Department parking lot. The Hayrack Ride will kick things off from 5 – 6 p.m. The cost is $2 per child.
Afterward kids can attend the family-friendly Annual Trunk or Treat activity where costumed kiddos can go from car trunk to trunk trick-or-treating for all the goodies their sacks can hold!.
Organizers also have some room for those trunkers wanting to still participate. Or if you want the Hayrack Ride to stop at your house for trick-or-treaters, contact Amber at 719-221-9942 or Crystal at 515-783-5175.

The Oasis Restaurant on Highway 285 does photos and treats for all those costumed kiddos today so stop by for yours!
Also be sure to catch the Haunted Castle over at the home of Doug and Tawnya Vonallmen. It gets better and spookier every year!

Chamber Speaker Series Continues Tomorrow
There are some Saguache Chamber of Commerce meetings and functions coming up that should be noted on your calendar. The first is tomorrow, November 1.
Continuing with the special Chamber Speaker series, Ms. Cathy Archuleta will be the featured speaker on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Saguache County Road & Bridge Building. Archuleta is an accomplished genealogist, specializing in family origins in Colorado and New Mexico. She will be discussing how to search out family histories as well as delving into some early family histories of the Upper Rio Grande valley from northern New Mexico to Saguache. Don’t miss this fascinating discussion. Know your roots!

Annual Chamber Planning Meeting November 19
The Saguache Chamber of Commerce will be holding the 4th Annual Saguache Planning Conference on Saturday, November 19th at the County Road & Bridge Building. The Chamber will be collecting dates for meetings and events to put on the Chamber’s 2017 Community Calendar. There will also be a line-up of great speakers discussing important items of interest for our community. More details will be forthcoming.
