Last Soup Kitchen in Saguache Today
The last soup’s on for Esther Mae’s Community SOUP Kitchen will be held tonight starting at 6 p.m. at the 4th Street Diner. Tonight’s menu will be a community pot luck and include some Karaoke entertainment with The Music Man.
Everyone is welcome to this gathering of friends, family, and neighbors. This will be the last Soup Kitchen for this grant cycle which was generously provided since January thanks to Saguache HEART.
Esther Mae’s Community Soup Kitchen was made possible by a grant from the Colorado Trust, which provided more than $200,000 in funding for H.E.A.R.T. (Health Equity Action Resident Team) of Saguache/KV to continue its efforts to achieve health equity, ending inequalities so that those most affected will have fair and equitable opportunities to attain good health.
As part of its Community Partnerships initiative, The Colorado Trust, a statewide philanthropic foundation, has been collaborating with H.E.A.R.T. of Saguache/KV community members since 2015 to identify opportunities for change that would improve the lives of those living here. The community came together in a series of discussions, meetings, events and more, led by a local team of residents who oversaw the work and created a plan.
So come and join the celebration of the last Soup Kitchen in downtown Saguache Today. The 4th Street Diner is located at 411 4th Street.
