Peterson Sees Victory in Primary Election
Saguache County voters went to the polls yesterday giving a good indication of how local ballot-casters are seeing the 2018 Mid-Term Election as candidates gear up for the home stretch toward November.
Locally, the political punsters had their eye on the Saguache County Assessor’s race, as the two Democratic contenders battled it out in the Primary. Yesterday’s results provided to Saguache Today by Saguache County Clerk and Reorder Trish Gilbert, reported that incumbent Peter Peterson emerged the victor. Peterson’s 498 votes gave him the lead over challenger Rhiannon Curry who brought 329 votes in support of her candidacy.
Other races played out on the Saguache County level as follows. Remember, candidates can still throw their hats into any one of these races as long as you are eligible and complete the appropriate petition paperwork and have it returned by the July 12 deadline.
